Good credit is very important and vital to your success as a real estate investors. When you are buying a proeprty, it afects your ability to borrow money. You need to know that only people who can legally and ethically help you restore the credit are yourself and maybe a credit repair company.

About half of the credit report have a mistake and you can call the credit companies to correct them. One tips here: Challenge whatever bad information is in the report and keep challenging it until it's removed!

I whole-heartedly agree. The disparities in the rates of individuals with mediocre scores and those with high scores can often mean several hundred dollars difference on similarly priced properties.

I agree - every point counts. It's critical to monitor your credit report diligently for any discrepancies. It takes work to correct them, but well worth it.

One thing is not to pay anyone who says they can "fix" your credit. They're not doing anything you can't do yourself with a little elbow grease.

Thanks for the very helpful advice we are trying to repair my husbands credit it is very hard but it can be done.

I just went through challenging items on my husband's credit report. Half of them weren't even his SS number. I called the reporting agency, and they said all 3 accounts came from the same creditor, and they were investigating them. About a month and a half later, I got a statement in the mail saying they were dropped from his credit report. Now to just clean up the rest of his report. The biggie is his back child support, but he's paying on that regularly now, and it goes down every payday.

be carefule paying off old bad credit .. if it is over 2 years old it doesn't count towards your score ..
if you pay it and it reports .. it is now a bad item added to your score and actually lower it
