The real estate market in Utah is red hot, and that makes it the next stop on our half a million dollar home tour.
Salt Lake City recently played host to the winter games and is known for its great slopes. It also has some great houses.
It seems like there's no better time to buy or sell home in Utah. Red hot real estate that agent Shauna Pizza says are hard to keep in inventory, "These homes are gone generally within 24 hours and generally with multiple offers."
What will $500,000 get you here? We found a nice 2 story conventional home that falls in the price range--no extra charge for the view from the base of big Cottonwood Canyon, in Salt Lake City. The home is just 15 minutes from four major ski resorts, 15 minutes from downtown and just 20 minutes from the airport.
"One of the great things about this home is its location," according to Pizza.
Half a million bucks here gets you 4,200 square feet and five bedrooms, including a spacious master suite with a whirlpool tub and walk-in closet.
Built in 1994, the home has a lot of upgrades: a laundry room on the 2nd floor, central vacuum, a home security system, a 3 car garage and a gourmet kitchen.
"The home has all new modern appliances, granite countertops, it's large and spacious and would fit any family," says Pizza.
The sunken family room has a fireplace and showcases some of the upgrades throughout the house like high ceilings, plantation shutters and hardwood floors. It has 4 bathrooms and a finished basement. The fully landscaped yard is probably a nice place to enjoy the Utah sunsets.
Overall, the house is comparable to what half a million dollars buys in North Texas.
