Home Purchases Made Sight Unseen A few years ago, James Hanrahan, a real estate broker in Florida, experienced a property sale like none he had ever done before.
He sold a house on Longboat Key, off the west coast of Florida, to a family from Stockholm for $600,000.
The unusual part? The family never visited the house before buying it. Today, the property is worth more than $2 million.
"They knew this particular area and wanted direct waterfront with good views," the Sarasota-based agent said. "A number of other Swedes live in that same area, so they were very motivated."
