Post Tour Some Dallas/Fort Worth $500,000 Homes

Affordable interest rates and creative loans are making home ownership more attainable than ever before.

Whether you're in the market to buy or just window shopping, get ready to tour several half million dollar houses from all over the country.

We begin in Dallas-Fort Worth.

ReMax Realtor Bruce Arfsten is in his element giving us a tour of a luxurious, contemporary home. He says, "You'd be surprised how much you can get for $500,000."

Arfsten has been in the real estate business for years and knows, not only is everything bigger in Texas, he says your dollar goes a lot farther! "If you go to the west coast, you're going to pay triple this price, if you can find it."

This particular home has five bedrooms, three bathrooms, high ceilings, marble floors, granite countertops, and a double oven.

"Nice master bedroom, great master suite with the jetted tubs, big bath areas and closets with built-ins and so forth," adds Arfsten.

The total square footage on the home is - 3,336.

Arfsten explains, "This is the kind of home. When you walk in, you say ew, you say ah, it's an ew-ah home."

Another half million dollar treasure sits on Willow Wood Lane in far North Dallas. It's nestled in a neighborhood with easy access to LBJ Freeway and is in the desirable Plano School District.

Next, let's travel to Fort Worth.

Kay West, President of the Greater Fort Worth Association of Realtors, helped us tackle Cowtown.

West explains, "We have a very diverse market here in Fort Worth, but we also have a very healthy market."

One home nestled in Bellaire Park North offered easy access to Interstates-20 and 30. It has four oversized bedrooms, each with a private bathroom and walk-in closet.

"The flow of the house is good. It's a very desirable house and priced well for the area," according to West.

The open floor plan offers a whopping 5,285 square feet of space.

Then there's a skyscraper available for purchase. Talk about location!

"You're right in the middle of downtown Fort Worth which is very vibrant and alive," says West.

Living in 'The Tower' offers easy access to downtown shops, restaurants and movie theaters. West adds, "You have a secured entrance in and out."

You never have to leave the building to walk your dog, swim or workout. And the view from the half million dollar, 29th floor condo is fantastic. The flowing floor plan makes the 2,200 square foot home feel more spacious than it is.
