Post Yahoo! It's easier to sell homes

Some homes for sale will soon sport a new detail on their lawn signs: a code that will link prospective buyers to details about the property when entered into a Yahoo search page.
As part of the program, a Yahoo sign can be attached to for-sale lawn signs of homes being sold by Prudential Real Estate Affiliates.

The unique identification number will help prospective buyers learn more without having to search through pages of listings. And Prudential agents can send daily e-mail alerts to home sellers with real-time updates on the number of people who have viewed their property online, and the latest selling prices for nearby homes.

The offerings come as the Internet is increasingly used to foster home sales.

Home listings once printed out in books available only to real estate agents are obtainable by anyone online, accompanied by increasingly sophisticated pictures and virtual tours.

And a growing number of online services are cropping up to help people judge house prices, survey neighborhoods and evaluate school districts.
