I prefer to invest locally and would be very cautious about investing in a different country - let alone

a country with a different culture, language, and even alphabet.

What do you think?

I will not invest overseas at this moment. We have better opportunities here in US than foreign countries given that you are a totoal stranger to the market, policy, culture .....

I prefer to keep my investments close by so that I can keep an eye on them.

No way would I invest in a place where not only can I keep a close eye on it, I don't even speak the language.

I think I would look in to a investiment house over seas, but only in a vacation area where I may go only like a month or two a year, then let other rent it for vacation as well.

I don't think I'd invest in another country right now. Like others have said, there's the distance, the language, etc that would make it very difficult to keep on top of things. I like to be able to visit my properties on a very regular basis, and that would be almost impossible overseas.

I don't think I would consider China at this time. There are too many unknowns and it's too difficult to properly manage a property that's half a world away. I feel better when I can drop by and check on my investments from time to time.

But hey, perhaps there's the excuse for a few business trips to Asia.
