Dear Dutch,
I want to make an observation and two suggestions.
First, you want to do this on properties you buy, to
make absolutely ure you get the deed, but you do NOT
have to do it for any
properties you sell.
However, if you do want to,
1. If you have a lawyer now, you can just give him
documents to hold for you, without detailing what they
are.
2. You could look for a new lawyer one who is hungry
for some business, with the hope of more in the
future.
3. If no title company locally offers this
now, you can educate them about the demand if they
did, and offer a payment that induces them to start
doing it. Educate
them like you do your banker.
Just my ideas.
Yours truly,
Bill H.
