The relaxed historic town of Princess Anne is filled with lovingly preserved homes from the Colonial, Federal and Victorian eras with its wonderfully quaint main street featuring upscale shops, cafes and restaurants, several salons, an historic courthouse and bank, a great library, hardware store, post office and historic Teackle Mansion (open for tours), all within a four to five block walk from the inn.
Located between the Beach (35 minutes to the wild ponies of Assateague or Ocean City) and the Chesapeake Bay (10 minutes), we are surrounded by three lush rivers (canoeing and kayaking) and open savannahs. It's a wildlife and bird haven, a delight for nature lovers. Local museums, galleries, antique stores and restaurants are scattered around the region in many quaint nearby towns. Salisbury is 10-15 minutes away, with movie theatres, restaurants and all the big box stores. Salisbury University and the University of MD ES campus offer more cultural events and activities, including athletic games.
